A Ceremonial Milestone for Spandau’s Power Supply

On 31 July 2025, the topping-out ceremony for the expansion of the Tiefwerder substation takes place in Spandau. Together with representatives from Stromnetz Berlin, the Spandau district, and guests from business and the energy sector, all parties involved celebrate the progress of construction. As the event agency commissioned by Stromnetz Berlin, we provide the ceremonial setting – from organisation to full on-site delivery.
The substation, originally built in the 1970s, is undergoing extensive modernisation to safeguard the long-term electricity supply for around 10,000 households. Next to the existing building, a new hall with modern technology has been under construction since summer 2024. From 2026 onwards, the installation of the electrical equipment will begin, while the refurbishment of the existing plant will run in parallel during ongoing operations.
With an investment of around 27 million euros, Stromnetz Berlin is strengthening supply security and creating capacity for e-mobility, industrial transformation and solar generation. The topping-out ceremony marks an important interim milestone: a visible sign of construction progress and a celebratory moment for everyone involved in the project.
