The Working Hours Act stipulates that public libraries must remain closed on Sundays – except when they are open for events. The Berlin Central and Regional Library has been taking advantage of this opportunity for a good three years now. The library welcomes individuals, couples, families and children to its America Memorial Library every Sunday to enjoy its free programmes, including shared readings, laughter yoga, crypto parties and upcycling workshops. More than 223,000 visitors have availed themselves of the service to date.
