Summer Lounge Berlin TXL 2025

The City as a Laboratory – Urban Innovations

Project profile

For the Urban Tech Republic, we are realising the Summer Lounge 2025 on the site of the former Tegel Airport. Under the guiding theme “Real-world laboratories for Berlin’s future”, around 180 guests from politics, science, business and civil society will gather on 17 July 2025 to discuss key questions of urban transformation.

At the heart of the event is Berlin TXL as a place where the future is not only imagined, but also practically tested. The site is developing into a European innovation hub where sustainability, social participation and technological development converge. Real-world laboratories create the opportunity to immediately test in practice – from climate-adapted urban development to innovative technologies for a liveable metropolis.

We support this format with careful planning and implementation: from the conception of coordinating logistics to shaping the atmosphere of the meeting spaces and our dedicated laboratory bar.  The thematic highlights range from a keynote speech by Senator Franziska Giffey and a scientific contribution by the Wuppertal Institute to an interactive innovation simulation game that opens up creative perspectives.

At the concluding get-together, the Governing Mayor Kai Wegner will also attend, underlining the significance of Berlin TXL in a European context: as a showcase for urban innovation and as a place where the future is actively being shaped.

With the Summer Lounge 2025, a space is created in which visions, scientific insights and political strategies converge. The event clearly demonstrates that the Urban Tech Republic is not only a Berlin-based project, but a role model for the development of future-oriented cities across Europe.
