Special Exhibition - MATERIAL CULTURE BERLIN TXL 2024.

A Building for the Future.

Project profile

The Berlin TXL Infocenter is an innovation and networking platform for sustainable urban development, offering an interdisciplinary range of exhibitions and events focused on urban technologies for the city of tomorrow. artecom supports the conception and realization of the special exhibition “MATERIAL CULTURE BERLIN TXL 2024.” on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the former Berlin Tegel Airport, in collaboration with Tegel Projekt GmbH.

Fifty years ago, the architects Von Gerkan, Marg, and Nickels made architectural history with the former airport. The exhibition not only highlights the impressive achievements of the past but also bridges the transformation of the airport into a hub for urban technology innovation. Visitors can discover the stories the buildings tell and how these continue to evolve within the new industrial and research park.

The exhibition features both informative and interactive elements from various fields, ranging from architecture and art to everyday objects. Digital and analog exhibits provide interdisciplinary answers to key questions such as “What does circular building mean?”.

artecom is responsible for turning this vision into reality through the creation of exhibit tables and panels, developing the basement area, coordinating the involved trades, providing essential furniture, and assembling the entire exhibition.
