On 1 May 2025, the traditional central Labour Day demonstration took place in Chemnitz, organised by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB). Under the nationwide motto ‘Make yourself strong with us’, many people gathered to demonstrate for good working conditions, fair wages and secure jobs.

The event began with a demonstration procession through the city centre and ended at the Neumarkt, where a varied programme of speeches, music and information stands was on offer.

The focus was on current issues such as strengthening tariff commitment and protecting social achievements such as the 8-hour working day and sick pay – and above all the call to campaign together for a fair working world in the face of all the current challenges.

This is the first event that artecom has organised sustainably in accordance with the ISO 20121 standard (Sustainable Event Management). artecom obtained this certification for the first time in March 2025. The focus of our sustainability activities at this event was on the conservation of natural, human and financial resources, sustainable procurement management (this includes, for example, giving preference to regional suppliers and predominantly regional and seasonal products), with a particular focus on safety aspects, as well as waste management and climate-friendly optimisation of the travel chain.
