On behalf of Stromnetz Berlin, we are organising the ceremonial groundbreaking event for the expansion of the Claszeile substation in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. Together with guests from politics, business and public administration, the symbolic starting point was set for an important infrastructure project with an investment volume of around 27 million euros. Within a dignified setting, the significance of modernising the substation, originally built in the 1970s, was highlighted: By 2031, an expanded and technically upgraded facility will be created, strengthening the security of supply for tens of thousands of households while contributing to the energy transition through the integration of photovoltaic-prepared infrastructure.

The groundbreaking ceremony not only marked the official start of construction works, but also provided an opportunity for dialogue with local residents and representatives of the district. This allowed the project to be presented in a transparent and open exchange, clearly outlining the next phases of development.
